I love having my girlfriends over for an afternoon of laughing and eating yummy food. I normally have a couple of sangria's ready! You do not need to use an expensive wine to make a delicious sangria.

  • 2 bottles fruity red wine
  • 1/2 cup brandy
  • 1 cup pomegranate juice
  • 1 large pomegranate, for the seeds
  • 1 pear, cored and thinly sliced
  • 1 orange, thinly sliced into rounds
  • 1 cup red grapes, sliced in half lengthwise
  • 1/3 cup raw honey
  • 1 bunch fresh mint leaves, reserving some for garnish
  • 1 bottle sparkling water

  1. Combine ingredients except sparkling water in a decorative pitcher. Refrigerate for at least two hours, or overnight. Spoon some fruit into glasses and top with a splash of sparkling water, garnish with mint.

  2. Freeze some grapes and put in the glass before pouring.
