Peanut Butter Dog Bone Treats

We have so many dogs in our family and I love to make cookies for them to enjoy!  These were packed in their gift jars for Christmas!

  • 2 cups organic whole wheat flour, plus more for dusting
  • 1/2 cup oats
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 cup low-sodium chicken broth
  • 1 cup natural peanut butter, at room temperature

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.  Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl combine the flour, oats and baking powder together. Stir in the chicken broth and peanut butter until the mixture forms into dough.
  3. Form the dough into a disk on a floured surface. Knead for 1 minutes or until smooth.  Then begin to roll out into a a large circle and no more than 1/2 inch.
  4. Use a bone-shape cookie cutter to form then place on the prepared baking sheet.  Re-roll scraps to use up all the dough.
  5. Bake for about 18-20 minutes or until brown. Transfer to a wire rack and cool completely. Store in an airtight container for up to 1 week.
