Jake's Apple Cookies

I really enjoy making Jake healthy treats! He loves them too. I was just enjoying an individual unsweetened applesauce and Jake was staring at me so I gave him a tasted and he loved it. Then I decided to make him a treat of apple cookies.

Here we go!

  • 1 cup unsweetened applesauce (plain)
  • 1 cup oat flour
  • 1/2 cup oat bran
  • 1 cup brown rice flour
  • 5 tablespoons low fat cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 2 tablespoons raw honey
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 to 1/3 cup water

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F

  2. Put all of the ingredients (start with 1/4 cup water) in your food processor and pulse about 4 times until all ingredients are finely ground. If it is really thick then add in more water.

  3. Put on a work surface with a little flour (oat flour is fine) and roll out unit the dough mixture is about 1/4 inch thick. Either use a cookie cutter or cut into your favorite doggie shapes and bake on an ungreased baking sheet for 20-25 minutes.

  4. Store refrigerated in a sealed container.
