Grilled Spicy Shrimp Salad on the BGE

We were grilling up steak on the Big Green Egg and I decided to grill these shrimp for my salad.  The smoke flavor really made this salad more amazing! 



  • 1 pound large raw shrimp, peel and devein (leave on tail)
  • Olive oil
  • Sea salt
  • Freshly ground pepper
  • 1/2 cup orange juice, pulp free
  • 1 lime zest and juiced
  • 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 2-3 scallions, sliced
  • 3 tablespoons thinly sliced red onion
  • 1 jalapeno, finely chopped


  1. Heat your BGE to 350 degrees F.   

  2. Add prepared shrimp on a large bowl and drizzle about 2 tablespoons of oil and season with salt and pepper.  Toss around.  Place on the direct heat and grill each side for 2 minutes.  Remove from grill.

  3. In a bowl whisk orange juice, lime zest, lime juice, oil, Dijon mustard, 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1/2 teaspoon of pepper. 

  4. Add shrimp, scallions, red onion and jalapeńo.  Toss to mix.  Place in a serving platter to serve or let sit in the refrigerator until ready to enjoy!
