Carrot and Peanut Butter Dog Christmas Cookies

These are just adorable and Jake tested and approved!  You can use any cookie cutter but I thought the Christmas tree was perfect. I sprinkled a little dried parsley which is good for their bad breath!

Please, keep your pets safe this Holiday Season!

  • 1 cup natural creamy peanut butter, no sugar
  • 1 carrot shredded, 1/2 cup
  • 3/4 cup skim milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cups and 3 tablespoons whole wheat flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/3 cup quick cooking oats
  • Dried parsley, optional (good for bad doggie breath)

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F. Line two large baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone baking mats. Set aside.
  2. In a large mixing bowl combine peanut butter, milk, egg, and carrot together.  Use a large spoon or hand held mixer to combine ingredients.
  3. Sift in four and baking powder and continue combining.
  4. Add a handful of whole wheat flour to your work surface.  Roll out dough with a rolling pin then use your cookie cutter to create your shaped cookie.  Arrange on your prepared baking sheet. (you can keep them close to each other)
  5. Bake for 13-15 minutes, or until very lightly browned on the bottom. For crispy cookies flip over and bake for an additional 10 minutes.  Let cool completely before your doggie enjoys!
  6. Store in a sealed container or jar for up to 1 week.  Not sure your dog can eat them all in 1 week - Freeze in a sealed container!  Take out a few at a time.
