Cindy's Tip! Make ahead and just keep warm in your slow cooker to enjoy anytime. We love to keep this on the counter at our lake house. The kids can serve themselves when they are hungry! Yummy
In a large sauté pan over medium-high heat and add 1 tablespoon of olive oil then ground beef. Sauté until brown. About 10 minutes. Remove meat using a slotted spoon into a bowl. Set aside!
Wipe pan with paper towel to remove any fat. Heat pan over medium heat then pour in remaining olive oil. Add in carrots, onion and peppers. Sauté for 3-4 minutes. Season with salt and pepper then add in garlic. Continue cooking for another minute.
Pour in tomato sauce, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, cider vinegar, brown sugar, chili powder and dried thyme. Stir together to incorporate all ingredients. Bring to a simmer. (about 5 minutes)
Lower to simmer and cover for 10 minutes. Add in butter and stir around.
