Jake's Dehydrated Chicken

Jake's Dehydrated Chicken

Jake loves chicken jerky but it gets expensive. I bought 5 pounds of chicken breast for 1.99 per pound and used about 2 pounds for Jake and the rest for us. I put them in individual freezer bags. Left some in the refrigerator - it is good for a couple of weeks then the rest in the freezer to take out as needed. Jake really loves this dehydrated chicken. I do not have a dehydrator but the oven worked fine. This is what I did to make these yummy homemade treats for my wonderful dog - Jake!!

Jake's Pumpkin and Apple Meatloaf

You should all know by now how  much I love my Jake!  He loves pumpkin and apple so I thought a meatloaf would be a great recipe for him.  He will just love it crumbled in with his kibbles!

My plan was to make it in a loaf pan but they are all packed.  Until we move I need to be a little creative in the kitchen.  This was easy; I just formed the loaf on a lined baking sheet and it worked perfect.  We actually cut the loaf and half and Jake shared with his BFF RJ.

I hope you make this recipe for your dog - I am promise you lots of kisses..

I have heard different stories about dogs and turkey. Jake has had turkey but I only give him a little at a time and he has always been fine. If you are unsure then only give a little at a time or use chicken for this recipe.

Jícama chopped salad
  • Time: 10 minutes
  • Complexity: easy

Jícama chopped salad

While at the grocery store I decided that making beef and broccoli sounded really yummy for dinner.  Normally it's served with rice but I decided to prepare a jicama chopped salad.

While in Mexico last year we would get jicama sticks on the table and they are so refreshing and they really do take on flavors.

This is a nice and hearty salad that can be topped with your favorite protein but I do hope you try it with my beef and broccoli dish.  Super delicious...

Cindy's Tip:  Cut all of the vegetables the same size.  I like them in mini cubes!
