Turkey, Rice and Veggie Dog Meatballs

I love making treats for Jake.  We are getting ready to head up North for the summer therefore it's time to clean out the freezer and pantry.  I had frozen turkey burgers in the freezer along with a bag of frozen vegetables (peas, green beans and carrots).  We had 1 bag left of the rice (about 1 cup cooked) along with 1 can of sweet potato puree.  These made perfect meatballs for my amazing dog.

He loved them very much!  Give them a try for your doggie.

  • 3 frozen turkey burgers
  • 1/2 cup frozen vegetables
  • 1 cup cooked rice
  • 1 can sweet potato puree or pumpkin puree

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

  2. Heat your grill or grill pan over high heat.  Add frozen turkey burgers to the grill and cook each side for 3 minutes.  Remove and chop then add in food processor. Pulse until it starts to grind apart.

  3. Add in vegetables, rice and puree.  Set on low until all ingredients are in small pieces.

  4. Line a baking sheet with foil.  Use an ice cream scoop for the meatballs (helps them stay the same size) and line in your prepared sheet pan.  Bake for 25 minutes.  Let cool before you doggie enjoys.
