Turkey Burgers with Spinach and Herbs

I love these turkey burgers. I recently served them with my pancetta braised cabbage recipe. These paleo recipes go very well together! I used frozen (thawed) spinach and dried herbs to make this burger easy but very favorable! Enjoy

  • 1 (8 oz) box frozen spinach, thawed and squeezed
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or coconut oil
  • 1/2 yellow onion, minced or grated
  • 2-3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 pounds ground turkey meat, dark meat
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons dried parsley
  • 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
  • 1 teaspoon dried sage
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme

  1. In a medium sauté pan over medium heat add in oil. Add in onion and let sauté for about 2 minutes then add in garlic for 30 seconds. **NOTE: If you want to use fresh baby spinach then add it in the pan now and let sauté for about 2 minutes - Just until it begins wilting!

  2. Remove from heat and place in a large bowl and let cool.

  3. Add in ground turkey, herbs and spinach. Combine with your hands (it works better). do not overwork the mixture just until all of the ingredients are combined well.

  4. Form into patties. (After you form you patty hold in your hand and press your thumb in the middle - this will help the burger cook evenly and the middle will not bulge.

  5. Set your grill pan or out door grill. If using a grill pan brush with a little oil.

  6. Grill for 15-20 minutes. Flip only once after 7 minutes. The internal temperature should be 165.

  7. Enjoy with your favorite salad or roasted vegetables!

Cindy's Tip:These make great sliders for entertaining.
