Slow Cooker – Macaroni and Beef

Did you ever think you could prepare macaroni and beef in the slow cooker! Well.. you can.. Check it out.

 

Ingredients

  • 1 pound lean ground beef (or ground turkey)
  • 1 large onion, diced
  • 1 green (or red) bell pepper, seeded and diced
  • 3-4 garlic cloves, chopped
  • 1 (14.5 oz) can organic diced tomatoes
  • 1 (14.5 oz) can organic tomato sauce
  • 1 can water (empty tomato can)
  • 1 small can organic tomato paste
  • 1 pound package elbow macaroni
  • Fresh Parmesan Cheese

Directions

  1. In a large sauté pan set to medium heat then add beef and cook for about 4 minutes. Add in onion and pepper for about 3 more minutes then add garlic for another minutes.

  2. Drain any excess fat and add mixture into the slow cooker.

  3. Add diced tomatoes, sauce, water and paste and stir together.

  4. Cover and set for 5-6 hours or set to medium for 4-5 hours.

  5. 30 minutes before you are ready to serve add in your pasta and using a spoon stir all ingredients together.

  6. Serve with fresh parmesan cheese

    What a perfect weeknight dinner! Just sauté the beef, peppers and onions the night before and store in your refrigerator. In the morning before work add everything to your slow cooker. When you get home add in the pasta, give a stir make a salad and pour a glass of wine! Dinner is ready… How easy was that?

    Do you add the pasta cooked or from the box.
