Pumpkin Nutbutter and Bacon Balls

We love our dog Jake and really care about the food and treats that we feed him.  I like to make him treats that are healthy and fun.  We have Jake's approval on this one!

These pumpkin nutbutter and bacon balls are so easy and no bake!  You can use peanut butter but we always have a nutbutter in the house!  Enjoy

  • 2 cups oat
  • 3 dates, pits removed
  • 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup nutbutter
  • 1 cup organic pumpkin puree
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 3 tablespoons raw honey
  • 1/8 teaspoon sea salt
  • 2 tablespoons bacon, cooked and chopped

  1. Take oats and add to your mini chopper and grind until fine.  Put in your large mixing bowl.

  2. Add dates to your mini chopped and grind until a ball forms.

  3. In the same bowl add whole wheat flour, nutbutter, pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg, honey and sea salt.  Combine together.  Add bacon now if you decided to use!

  4. Using a melon or small ice cream scoop and create your balls.  I like making them the same size.

  5. Place on a pan or platter lined with parchment and refrigerate.

Note: When I make bacon there is always some extra (I do it on purpose). Then Jake gets to enjoy some in his healthy treats!
