Eating simple steamed artichokes are a perfect way to enjoy them but if you want a more hearty recipe then give this one a try! This can be a mean upon itself.

Cut off the artichoke stems and trim 1/2 inch from the tops of the artichoke leaves.
In a large mixing bowl combine almond meal, parmesan, 2 tablespoons olive oil, garlic, basil, oregano, rosemary, thyme and red pepper flakes.
Holding each artichoke over the bowl, stuff the breading into the spaces between the leaves.
Place the artichokes on a rack above boiling water in a large pot.
Drizzle the top with remaining 2 tablespoons of olive oil.
Cover and steam over medium heat, for 30-45 minutes, or until the leaves pull away easily.
