Hazelnut Chocolate Chip Brownies

Paleo OMG these brownies are delicious.  I have never used hazelnut flour/meal before and OMG it's really good.

I hope you enjoy this Paleo dessert recipe!

  • 2 tablespoon melted coconut oil
  • 6 ounces good quality dark chocolate, unsweetened and cut into cubes
  • 6 tablespoon unsalted butter, chopped
  • 1 cup hazelnut meal/flour
  • 1/2 cup coconut sugar
  • 1 teaspoon hazelnut extract (or use vanilla)
  • 3 large eggs, room temperature
  • 1/2 cup mini-chocolate chips, enjoy life

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Brush a 9x9 baking pan with the coconut oil.

  2. In a medium microwave safe glass bowl add in chocolate and butter.  Microwave for 1 minute then remove from microwave and stir until it melts a little more.  If there are still chunks of chocolate and butter then place in the microwave for 30 more seconds.  Remove and stir until smooth.  Set aside

  3. In a mixing bowl add hazelnut meal and sugar.  Stir well using a fork.  Add in eggs and extract and whisk with the fork until all combined well.  Take a wooden spoon and rub along the edges and stir around until all ingredients are incorporated well.  Pour in chocolate and continue stirring.  Fold in chocolate chips.

  4. Pour batter into the prepared baking pan and bake for 40-45 minutes or until the center is firm by a slight touch.  Let cool completely before slice and enjoying!
