Grilled Rib Eye with a Spicy Fried Egg

Adding a spicy fried egg to a rib eye just adds another great texture and amazing flavor.  It’s almost a way to show off your creative side of cooking!

  • 2 rib-eye steaks
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 3/4 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 2 large farm eggs, room temperature

  1. Heat your grill to a high temperature

  2. In a small bowl add salt, pepper, chili powder and cayenne pepper and mix together with a fork.

  3. Take rib-eyes and lay on a clean work area. Coat both sides of the steaks with the rub mixtures.

  4. Grill for 5 minutes per side for a medium-rare steak. Remove steaks from the grill and let rest on a platter or work to rest for 5 to 10 minutes.

Cindy’s Tip!: Making the perfect fried egg – Start with fresh eggs!  Always use a non-stick pan.  Use one that you just love to use.  Heat your burner to a medium heat and once hot add in a little butter or oil (about 1 tablespoon).  Crack your egg into a bowl (you don’t want to be digging out a shell in the hot pan) then add to the pan.  Do not touch the eggs let it cook.  Once the edges start to bubble or get crisp add a piece of foil over the top for 2 minutes if you like them a little runny and 3 minutes if you like the white cooked and a runny yolk.  Next just tilt the pan to the plate and the egg will slide right out!
